My husband and I had a long engagement; we didn't pick our wedding day right away. But we soon got sick of people asking us when we were getting married, so we started telling everyone our wedding was scheduled for September 31. Then we could giggle at responses like "Just a few more months, then?" and "That's the same day as my sister's anniversary!" (No kidding, somebody actually said that.)

Am I the only one who noticed that these supposedly bright college types have to be told to "please be prepared for rain"?
