Coronavirus Cases Are On The Rise Where They Are On The Rise!

You’ve seen various versions of the same alarming headlines:

Coronavirus Cases Are On The Rise!

In fact, it’s pretty much been the same headline for months, and it’s absolutely true.

At any given time, Coronavirus cases are in fact rising.

Somewhere.

Where? Well, that changes from week to week. Remember when we were told that Georgia would have "blood on its hands" because it was reopening too soon? How about Virginia which has been reopening for weeks now?

Georgia Virginia

Yeah, we aren’t talking about that so much now. We've moved on. Now we’re talking about Texas and Florida!

TexasTexas

Oh my goodness we’re all going to die!!

If we live in Texas or Florida.

This week, anyway.

How's the country doing overall?

USA

Yeah, not much useful here to induce the desired levels of hysteria.

In other words, the news story you are about to see is true, the names have been changed to protect the narrative.

Stay Obedient.

Stay Submissive.

Save Politicians.

Politically Useful Lives Matter!

The needless death of George Floyd, an African-American suspected of using a counterfeit $20 bill, and who died at the hands of a sociopathic police officer, moved the nation, and his name is now known to all of us. His memorial service and funeral were both carried live for hours on end on all the national cable news channels. Al Sharpton spoke at both.

The needless deaths of approximately 171 African Americans so far this year, 38 since the death of George Floyd, accused of walking the streets of Chicago, and who died at the hands of other civilians, moved their families. Their names are known to almost no one. Their funerals went uncovered. Al Sharpton was nowhere to be seen.

Why the disparity in attention?  Shouldn’t both these issues be a matter of great national concern and worthy of our consideration?

If you believe that, you’re looking at this all backwards.

Also, you’re a racist, but you knew that already.

Unless of course, you’re African-American, in which case you’re mistaken.

About your being an African-American, that is.

(Wait ‘till mom finds out.)

Consider this: If we were to pay equal attention to all the murders in Chicago how would that reflect on the African-American mayor of Chicago?

Doesn’t her black life matter, too?  And by “life,” we mean, “political prospects.”

That’s why it’s absolutely essential that so much attention be focused on the genocide of 10 unarmed African-Americans a year at the hands of police, that it leaves absolutely no time and energy to consider the not-at-all genocidal death of over 7,000 African-Americans a year at the hands of their fellow citizens.

Step back and think for a moment what would happen if people started bringing the same legitimate focus and attention to the routine slaughter of African-Americans on the streets of our major cities?

Why, that could result in a widespread breakout of accountability that could easily tear at the very fabric of entrenched political power structures!

Yes, black lives absolutely matter!

Some more than others, it would appear.
